  • High School Diploma/Equivalency
  • Valid Driver License - adhere to the Driver Authorization and Adherence Policy Number: 1.H.10.b-c (located on the "G" Drive Policy and Procedures - Section 1 Administrative Standards
  • Act 33/34/73 clearances - Updated every 60 months at the employee's expense
  • Physical/TB - updated every 2 years

Work Schedule: 37.5 hours a week may vary according to program need and needs of persons served.

Major Function Summary:

The Residential Supports Specialist is a Direct Service position which provides assistance and training to individuals with Intellectual Disabilities/Serious Mental Illness. This position is designed to provide quality services to individuals with Intellectual Disabilities/Serious Mental Illness as guided by Positive Practices and Person Centered Planning. This position is directly responsible to the Program Supervisor and is expected to operate with considerable initiative and professionalism. The Residential Support Specialist serves as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team and is involved in the planning of services for the individuals. The Residential Support Specialist and works with all individuals. In the event of unforeseeable emergencies, staff may be required to stay until relief arrives. Staff will be expected to relocate to another facility/program as needed to meet minimum staffing need for each site. Staff are to interact with internal/external partners and those we support with respect and dignity exceeding their expectations in service. A Residential Support Specialist is expected to resolve all complaints as they present in a courteous compassionate manner with the goal of solving the concern. Staff must be able to drive a company vehicle.
