Responsibilities

Retail Pharmacist
Plan, organize, and supervise all pharmaceutical and financial activities occurring in respective pharmacy. Such proceedings shall comply with the policies and procedures established by the WellStar Health System, Federal, state and local laws governing the practice of pharmacy, and the rules and standards established by the regulatory agencies (e.g. JACHO, Medicare, etc) involved in provision of health care. Shall function under the direction of the Director of Pharmacy Services. Participates in policy and procedure development regarding improvements, and departmental operating systems and procedures. Responsible for Control Medication Storage and Tracking to include, but not limited to: Outdate Tracking, Pharmacy's Inventory, Controlled Substance Inventory Control. Maintains quality control and safety reports needed to support effective operations. Will comply with OBRA90 and provide directions and instructions to patients and family members seeking information on prescription drugs. Will oversee Pharmacy Technician and their daily duties.

Qualifications

Required Minimum Education: B.S. Degree from an accredited School of Pharmacy.

Required Minimum Certification: Licensed as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) and in good standing with the Georgia Board of Pharmacy.

Required Minimum Experience:
Knowledgeable of computerized retail pharmacy systems - highly preferable.
Exposure / experience in all phases of pharmacy operations, e.g. medication order interpretation, inventory management, etc.
Familiar with retail pharmacy marketing strategies.

Required Minimum Skills:
Demonstrated leadership qualities.
Ability to supervise employees.
Ability to converse and work with Medical Staff.
Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written).
Strong customer service attitude.
Ability to think/act independently as required by situation.
