The Retail Production Support Manager coordinates and executes the production support efforts for Amerant Mortgage. Ensures the sales organization has resources for the successful onboarding of new loans from both new and existing members of the sales team.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operationalizes and is the primary point of contact for a “deal desk” focused on handling all aspects of upfront qualifications and coordinations of loan parameters including product selections, loan structures, qualifications, and coordinates exception handling.
  • Assists with system-level questions arising from the sales team including deal structuring, input, and qualification.
  • Represents sales regarding change management initiatives within the organization.
  • Communicates and assists with ongoing training initiatives as needed based on sales impact resulting in system, credit policy, and operational changes.
  • Acts as primary sales “tester” for UAT efforts requiring active participation from the production team.
  • Assists with loan level escalations with Operations and Credit.
  • Participates in organizational quality control efforts and assists with recommendations on sales process and communication.
  • Works closely with other members of the Operations and Credit staff to evaluate initial loan quality and assist with direct-to-underwriting qualification.
  • Assists with one-on-one training of sales staff in need of more focused and personalized attention.
  • Works closely with training staff to implement relevant and functional training related to sales.
  • Responsible for ensuring all Loan Assistants are operating within company policy and are appropriately trained.
  • Assists with transition desk efforts including handling origination functions for recently hired loan officers
  • Assists with the overall support needs of the sales organization including event and marketing support. While not a primary responsibility, the individual should have the knowledge and experience to advise on marketing-related items.
  • Assist capital markets with product development activities.
Minimum Education and /or Certifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field, Must have or be willing to obtain an NMLS license for loan origination.

Minimum Work Experience Requirements:

Must have a minimum of 10 years in the mortgage production industry with a minimum of 5 years in retail mortgage operations supporting both distributed and centralized production channels. Experience in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. Proven experience concurrently managing multiple enterprise-level objectives. Established ability to motivate and manage middle market to large mortgage fulfillment organizations.

Technical and/or Essential Knowledge:

Advanced knowledge of lending and/or mortgage processes and requirements. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and process driven. Proficient with MS applications required.
