Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Process encounters and post charges daily.
  • Verifies completeness and accuracy of all claims prior to submission to carriers and clearing houses
  • Communicate with clinic staff to ensure proper coding of records prior to submission
  • Review file data batches and submit claim files daily/weekly/monthly to proper carriers and clearing houses
  • Consistently follow up on unprocessed claims utilizing monthly reports and filing corrected when appropriate
  • Monitoring patient accounts for collections
  • Working with payers through claim processing to ensure accurate reimbursement
  • Ensuring collections are accurate and up to date
  • Payment posting via ERA and Manual to line items
  • Timely follow up on insurance claim denials, exceptions or exclusions
  • Working appeals and claim adjudication
  • Monitor remittance files daily for issues and coordinate resolution with clinic staff, insurance carriers, and patients
  • Monitor claim accounts and work with clinic staff to ensure all accounts balance within the Practice Management system
  • Coordinate reports to Finance for clinic billing, adjudication, and bad debt
  • Provide telephone support service to employees/patients with questions concerning their EOBs
  • Provide training to Healthstat staff regarding EPM and claims processing
  • Regularly meet with Account Manager to discuss and resolve reimbursement issues or billing obstacles
  • Work with Implementation for credentialing and testing of new clients.
  • Apply HIPAA privacy and IT security standards to information as required
  • Scanning of documents necessary for medical records
  • Other Duties as assigned or required
    Essential Physical Demands
  • Ability to sit at desk in office location each normal work day
  • Ability to use personal computer
  • Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively in person and by telephone
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment, while managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines
  • Ability to lift and pull 25lbs
    Essential Environmental Demands
  • Ability to work in climate-controlled office environment
    Relationships
  • High visibility and communication with clients, clinic providers, vendors and carriers
  • Internal contact with all Healthstat associates

    Qualifications
    • High School diploma; Associates degree preferred
    • Coding Certification through acceptable agency CPC-A, CPC or CCS (AAPC or AHIMA)
    • Minimum two years related work experience
    • Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office products
    • Experience with Practice Management software a plus
    • Demonstrates competence in multi-tasking
    • High energy personal style and aptitude for process-oriented thinking
    • Possess strong communication/attention to details and organizational skills
    • Track record of consistent stable employment

    Pay Range: $50,000 - $55,000
