Criteria for Internship:
Must be currently enrolled in one of the following programs:
AHIMA:
- RHIA: Register Health Information Admin
- RHIT: Registered Health Information Tech
- CCS: Certified Coding Specialist
- CCS-P: Certified Coding Specialist-Professional
- CPC: Certified Professional Coder
- COC: Certified Outpatient Coder
- CIC: Certified Inpatient Coder
- CPB-Certified Professional Biller
Rate of Pay:
-Unpaid - Students receive complimentary parking, career assessments and letters of recommendation. Students are encouraged to seek academic credit.

Qualifications:
- Public speaking and presentation skills.
- Strong customer service, critical thinking skills
- Ability to multitasks in a fast paced environment.
- Strong computer skills.
- Close attention to detail.
- Maintain high degree of confidentiality.
-Intern must be at least 18 years of age.
-Successful completion of the application,interview, hospital volunteer orientation, and position specific departmental training.
-Internwill be required to submit to criminal background inquiry, national governmentalsanction check, child abuse clearance, sexual offender registry clearance and anOccupational Health Screening.
Time Commitment:
Student must commit to an average of 20+ hours per week during approved internship timeline.
