Job Description
PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION

The Revenue Cycle Systems Analyst is responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating Revenue Cycle system/data and departmental user needs to continually improve processes. Provides application support, implementation, testing, reporting, and troubleshooting.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Duty 1: Provides primary technical support and monitoring of systems in use and implemented by the Revenue Cycle division and individual departments within the division. Technical support includes working with vendors and others in regular system maintenance and testing of system build and corrective action for issues identified in the main Electronic Health Record system and other third-party software.

Duty 2: Maintains current and accurate knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements within the supported content areas specific to Revenue Cycle.

Duty 3: Prepares for and participates in Revenue Cycle operational departmental staff meetings and in-service sessions. Able to provide project and issue status updates, describe upcoming requirements, and evaluation of areas of improvement.

Duty 4: Works closely with vendors, other analysts, and super users, managing and organizing review of changes, determining functionality requirements, and testing related to the implementation of software upgrades and enhancements.

Duty 5: Utilizes established change management processes when making system changes. In response to help desk tickets, manages the list of tickets and provides timely updates related to progress and completion.

Duty 6: Maintains and assists with development of system documentation and workflows for the Revenue Cycle departments and division.

Duty 7: Develops, supports, and maintains reports to capture data from various systems to support department and division dashboards, KPI metrics, and regulatory reporting requirements.

Duty 8: Interfaces with end users and acts as a liaison between clinical departments and the Revenue Cycle as it relates to technology and software solutions to help identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues. Acts in an advisory capacity to other departments to support interoperability, consistency, standardization, and optimal workflow based on best practices.

Duty 9: Provides cross coverage of duties with other members of Revenue Cycle System Analytics team to assure adequate resources are available to address issues and end user needs.

Duty 10: Acts as a Revenue Cycle representative and subject matter expert on projects, task forces, performance improvement projects, committees, etc. as needed. Making recommendations to management regarding training and further skill set development where identified.

Duty 11: Technical project management for small projects and assigned strategic initiatives including creating project documentation, managing deadlines, and suggesting options to overcoming project barriers. Develops policies and procedures along with the management team, and education in conjunction with department trainers as it relates to the projects and initiatives.

Duty 12: Maintain current technical knowledge to support rapidly changing technology, always on a look out for new technologies and work with management and development team in bringing new technologies to the organization. Including but not limited to participating in technology forums and industry user-groups.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associates degree in related field and 1 to 3 years of experience in the field for related area required
  • Flexible work schedule to accommodate implementation and support schedule
  • Proven work ethic, team and customer service orientated
  • Knowledge of financial and/or administrative applications, and Microsoft Office
  • Working knowledge of financial and/or administrative documentation and workflow
  • Ability to coordinate and manage effective meetings and agendas
  • Requires excellent listening, presentation, and verbal and written communication skills
  • A valid driver's license is required (if you do not have a valid Ohio driver's license you must obtain one within 30 days of your residency in the state). You must also meet BVHS's company fleet policy and insurance company requirements, and any other requirements that may be required to operate a vehicle.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • Experience in the healthcare industry preferred
  • Experience with electronic health record systems preferred
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This position requires a full range of body motion with intermittent activities in walking, lifting, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, and twisting. The associate will be required to sit for five hours a day. The individual must be able to lift ten to twenty pounds and reach work above the shoulders. This position requires corrected vision and hearing in the normal range. The individual must have excellent eye-hand coordination and verbal communication skills to perform daily tasks.
