Responsibilities

The Cardiology Registered Nurse is responsible for providing direct nursing care by applying clinical nursing knowledge and skills, and for ensuring the safety and comfort of patients and families according to legal, organizational and professional standards. The Cardiology RN will also facilitate the Cardiologists treatment plan and collaborate with affiliate providers. The Cardiology RN must also have the ability to triage and evaluate patient with critical cardiac complaints under the direct supervision of the cardiologist on call and via appropriately documented verbal orders.

Salary Range: $85,550.40 to $105,684.80 (Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.)

This position will only consider candidates whose highest attained degree is an RN (no advanced nursing degrees will be considered or allowed to function in this role)

This position requires travel between Clinics

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

(A = basics; B = preferred)

Education

A.

Graduate from an approved RN nursing program

B.

Bachelors Degree in nursing

Experience

A.

Critical Care, CCI / ICU, and/or Cardiovascular care experience.

B.

Outpatient clinic experience.

Licenses

A.

Valid and current Texas RN license

B.

Special Skills

A.

Able to triage and evaluate patient s with critical cardiac disease. Able to use equipment and related supplies for selected patient population and for CPR, oxygen administration and intravenous therapy. CRT experience helpful.

B.

Specialty nursing certification appropriate to specialty area assigned. Able to coordinate patient care across various sub specialties and with affiliate providers. Good knowledge of cardiovascular diagnostic tests and medicines used in the treatment of cardiovascular disease. Windows based computer skills and EMR experience helpful..
