WHAT YOU WILL DO AT SAPUTO

JOB SUMMARY: The maintenance planner/scheduler is responsible for planning and scheduling work for all process, electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, controls and boiler trades at the facility. The planner/scheduler working closely with associates in maintenance, engineering, and production areas will develop detailed job plans including materials, specialty tools, technical information, and work procedures for repairs, alterations, and preventive maintenance of the physical assets. The planner/scheduler will be responsible for long and short term scheduling of maintenance activities by trade designation. This position balances work priorities, manpower, materials, and equipment availability for maximum productivity .

JOB DUTIES:

  • Receives & processes work orders from requesting areas. Will discuss work order - resources & materials with Maintenance Mgr or supervisor who assigns work to mechanics.
  • Evaluates jobs, confirms need, determine effective execution of work orders and issues approved schedules with all supporting documentation and required resources.
  • Audits work orders to ensure accuracy and planning of supplemental work.
  • Ensures that safety precautions are given top priority in work planning.
  • Gathers any blueprints, drawings, sketches, etc. required by work order. Maintains backlog files & status of standing work orders.
  • Estimates how long job will take, enters into system which calculates labor costs.
  • The value of parts and consumable materials is obtained from the computerized inventory.
  • Plans and estimates, verifies availability of parts, materials, and availability of special tools.
  • Recordkeeping; Provides closing documents to management; File management.
  • Prepares a weekly forecast of all jobs. Keeps manager apprised of all critical issues.
  • Contact person between maintenance and production.
  • Reviews with engineering work orders requiring engineering design.
  • Performs any other duties as requested

  • Demonstrates integrity in all business activities with employees, visitors and vendors.
  • Reliable and consistent attendance and available to work any shift, overtime or holidays as required; may be required to cover the absence of key personnel.
  • Performs other duties as required.

    Physical Demands:

    Frequently required to stand and walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs and ladders; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, often in cramped positions; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. As member of the Emergency Response Team, individual must be SCBA certified.

    Mental Demands:

    This position frequently requires mental demands. The ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex diagrams, operating manuals or manufacturer's specifications. The ability to handle multiple tasks and multiple deadlines and work effectively under pressure is critical to this position.

    Environmental Demands:

    While performing job duties of this job, the employee is exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee will be subject to temperature extremes in various parts of the facility. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate; however, the employee will occasionally be exposed to noise in various locations inside the plant .


WHO IS RIGHT FOR THE ROLE
  • 5 years maintenance experience in a continuous operating (24/7) manufacturing or processing environment
  • 2 years previous experience in production or maintenance planning and scheduling.
  • Must possess thorough knowledge of Process, Electrical and Mechanical crafts.
  • Proficient computer skills in CMMS systems, MS Excel, Outlook, and Word. SAP Preferred.
  • Strong communication skills: oral, written, and interpersonal.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Well organized; ability to file physical and electronic logs.
  • Must be able to effectively lead a maintenance planning meeting or other maintenance team meetings or functions.
  • HS diploma or equivalent
