How You'll Make an Impact

The Scientist I will plan, prioritize and monitor projects to ensure timely project completion. This position will communicate project requirements, status and deadlines with team members and customers.

What You'll Do
• Carry out routine NGS lab duties including qPCR, multiplexing and sequencing.
• Assist with all troubleshooting efforts
• Supervise and support a sub-team of Associate Scientist I and Associate Scientist II level team
members
• DNA and RNA extraction from a variety of sample types using standard and custom protocols
• Comprehend and review QC data in depth and provide feedback accordingly
• Perform standard, custom and specialized library preparation
• Monitor run performance and communicate with vendor regarding related issues
• Perform routine maintenance of sequencers and other equipment
• Maintain a safe workplace in accordance with company and OSHA policies/procedures
• Work closely with other team members to ensure timely and effective completion of projects
• Assist with creating, updating and improving Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work
guidelines

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences or equivalent required. Master's degree in Biological Sciences preferred.
• Minimum of four (4) years of relevant laboratory experience required
• Experience in multiple steps of the NGS process required. Hands-on experience with NGS platforms preferred.
• Experience with Molecular Biology principles and technologies
