We are seeking a highly motivated, innovative and collaborative scientist to join our liver cancer modeling and target discovery efforts. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and executing in vitro and in vivo experiments to generate, analyze and utilize orthotopic human hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) mouse models for therapeutic drug discovery and development.

As a Scientist in our Oncology team, a typical day may include:

- Design, plan, and independently perform complex in vitro and in vivo experiments to establish novel orthotopic mouse models of human liver cancers with genetically modified human hepatocytes or hepatocellular carcinoma cell lines
- Design, plan and perform dosing experiments to test therapeutic reagents against human liver tumors in mouse models
- Design, plan and perform ex-vivo and/or in vitro assays to understand mechanisms of tumorigenesis and therapeutic drug actions in pre-clinical liver cancer models
- Collaborate closely with research teams and functional groups across the company
- Document experimental procedures and results in a well-organized fashion; generate experimental reports
- Synthesize results across experiments and present to colleagues and management
- Take responsibility for authoring documents to be published in regulatory filings, patent applications, external conference posters, and journal articles
- Supervise one or more Research Associates

To be considered for this role you must have a Ph.D. degree plus at least 3 years postdoc training in related area. The ideal candidate should have proven expertise in one or more areas of tumor biology, immunology, oncology and/or immuno-oncology and experience with in vivo mouse modeling. Working knowledge of liver biology, liver cancers, flow cytometry and/or CRISPR/Cas9 gene targeting is desired. Strong analytical mind and critical thinking skills. Excellent organization, documentation and communication skills. Interpersonal skills and team spirit are essential.
