We are seeking a Scientist with strong expertise in integrative metabolism and energy balance with a scientific expertise on neuronal regulation of adipose tissue or energy expenditure. The Metabolic and Muscle Disease group at Regeneron is committed to discovering novel targets and innovative medicines to treat obesity, diabetes, dyslipidemia, NASH and muscle diseases. The candidate will be responsible for guiding and executing rigorous in vivo mechanistic studies for target discovery, validation, and novel therapeutic development.

As a Scientist in Muscle and Metabolism, a typical day might include the following:

- Independently designing, conducting, analyzing, and troubleshooting rigorous in vivo and in vitro experiments to drive projects
- Identifying and implementing novel areas, technologies and approaches for validating targets and modalities to support of development of therapeutics
- Synthesizing results across programs and communicating progress and discoveries within the Muscle and Metabolic Disease Group and across different functions

To be considered for this role, you must have a M.D. or Ph.D with at least 3-5 years of postdoctoral training in Neuroscience, Metabolism, Gut-brain, Adipose-brain, and/or experience with translational clinical science. A proven publication record demonstrating productivity and scientific rigor is required. Strong hands-on experience with in vivo neuroscience-based approaches including stereotaxic surgeries and in vivo assessment of metabolism is crucial. Experience in biochemistry, flow cytometry, molecular biology, in vitro and ex-vivo assays are required. Research experience with brain IHC/ISH, adipocyte and/or neuronal culture, optogenetics, single-nuclei RNASeq and/or spatial transcriptomics is desirable. Excellent written and presentation skills are essential.
