This position is for the weekend shift, working Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 7:00 am- 5:30 pm

Summary

Watson Metal Masters is seeking a skilled Seam Welder to operate machinery and fabricate stainless steel tanks. As a vital member of our production team, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and precision of our products. This position requires proficiency in blueprint interpretation, operating a shear, loading materials onto welding tables, running grinding machines, rolling, and closing shells, and operating a forklift. While experience is preferred, we are willing to train motivated individuals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Interpret blueprints and measurements to plan layouts for seam welding.
• Operate welding machinery to weld small and large components.
• Assess welded surfaces, structures, and components to identify errors.
• Enforce strict safety regulations, including the use of appropriate PPE.
• Seam weld components in flat positions.
• Perform grinding and finishing tasks to meet quality standards.
• Ability to work in confined spaces.
• Familiarity with code work and certifications such as 6G Tig test, and ASME Certification.
• Collaborate with the Watson team to fulfill other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

• High school diploma preferred.

Specialized Knowledge and Experience

• 3-5 years' experience in fabricating and welding, preferably with MIG and TGAW on stainless steel.
• Experience in ASME shop is a plus.
• Forklift training preferred.
• Proficiency in polishing and finishing stainless steel.
• Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and hand tools.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
• Understanding of safety standards and PPE usage.
• Dependable and able to work effectively with others.
