The Role

We have an immediate need for a Security Support Technician II who will monitor, acknowledge, and respond to incoming alarms, dispatching authorities, alternates, or service as necessary. This role will also act as team lead working with customers to resolve issues, assisting and training other team members and working any equipment issues.

 

The CenturyLink Security team provides quality security and life safety services, including installation, service and monitoring of intrusion and fire alarm systems, as well as, CCTV, card access, nurse call, intercom systems and SMART HOME systems.

The Main Responsibilities

The Security Support Technician II primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Responding to all incoming alarms according to departmental procedures.
  • Placing outgoing calls to verify alarms, dispatch proper authorities, and notify responsible parties.
  • Providing general assistance to customers with their system, alarm resets, and call back inquiries.
  • Responding and managing inbound and outbound calls using automation software.
  • Adhering to all applicable procedures including documentation and reporting.
  • Being a customer advocate and resolving issues with escalated customers 
  • Ensuring all tasks are completed on shift by team members
  • Training, answering and assisting team members on shift
  • Keeping supervisor informed of any issues on the shift
  • Leading the technical processes if there are equipment issues by acting promptly to resolve issue
  • Ensure filing and scanning of documents on shift
  • Lead all projects on shift
  • Selling new products and services to customers as applicable
  • Other duties as assigned

What We Look For in a Candidate

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent work experience. 
  • Must be qualified to be licensed in all states where CenturyLink conducts business.
  • Experience in a security central station monitoring center
  • Excellent and effective communication skills (oral and written) and a personal phone manner
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to details.
  • Experience or training in the operations of all office equipment
  • Strong computer skills with MS Office experience and the ability to navigate multiple systems at once.
  • Strong multi-tasking skills
  • Willingness to work extended hours, holidays and weekends as required to meet the needs of the business.

 

Preferred qualifications:

  • Previous team lead or supervisory experience
  • Previous call center experience

This position is eligible for either short-term incentives or sales compensation. Director and VP positions also are eligible for long-term incentive.
