Materion is seeking a Senior Accountant to provide centralized accounting support for local and international Performance Alloys and Composites (PAC) locations. This position will report to the Business Unit Accounting Manager, to assist in providing accurate and informative data to key Business Users. Ideal candidate will bring a continuous improvement mindset to support FP&A, Operations Accounting and Corporate Accounting in accomplishing One Materion accounting and finance goals.

You Will Have the Opportunity to:

Facilitate the close/consolidation of PAC reporting units. Ensure timely and accurate consolidation of results completing various close responsibilities

• Key contributor to the monthly and quarterly close process including posting journal entries preparing account reconciliations and investigating variances to expectations
• Reconcile and resolve intercompany out of balances working with domestic and international teams
• Maintain compliance with US GAAP and all company accounting policies

Provide centralized accounting support for Business Unit FP&A, Operations Finance and Sales for Domestic and International locations

• Ensure accurate sales data within SAP database providing data used for cross-functional business decisions
• Provide expense reporting to key Business Users
• Prepare ad hoc financial analysis as required by Management and in support of financial reporting requirements

Identify and implement process improvement initiatives. Assist with special projects and other tasks assigned by the BU Accounting Manager

• Drive automation and streamline processes through collaborative partnering with the PAC finance functions

Assist with internal and external audit requirements and requests

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience
• Experience in a manufacturing environment and/ or public accounting which included responsibility for account reconciliations, financial statement review and application of general and/ or cost accounting
• CPA, MBA and/ or CMA certifications are preferred
• Knowledge of Materion IT systems, including SAP and OneStream preferred
