What we need:

Mohawk is looking for a Senior Accountant who can do more for all Mohawk Flooring North America brands across residential, distributor and builder multifamily divisions.

This position will assist the manager with the Company's lease accounting software, Costar, and ensure that the Company's consolidated lease accounting policies are compliant. This role will also be responsible for monthly, quarterly and year end reporting for leases and the monthly tie out between HFM and Costar. Responsible for non-routine and/or complex general ledger accounts and system closing processes that present a diverse range of issues and data requiring the application of in-depth analysis, and research necessary to support daily and monthly closing activities of the Company. This role may also help execute technology and other process level solutions related to improving accounting processes over time. Successful candidate will use independence and judgment to recognize and resolve problems within established policies and procedures and is accountable for the quality, timeliness and accuracy of the team's work. Role will provide a great growth opportunity and exposure for someone within the Company.

What you'll do:

  • Preparation of journal entries and general ledger account reconciliations for accounts utilizing Blackline, and SAP functions with greater complexity. Collect and review data from source documents through data downloads and extracts verify and confirm data accuracy.
  • Lease system admin responsibilities include, maintaining exchange and discount rates, helping segments with technical issues within Costar and handling support cases with Costar. Provide ongoing lease training and support for business users.
  • Remain current on and assist in development of department operating processes and compliance guidelines, informs business customers accordingly and ensure processed transactions are compliant.
  • Assist in Identifying areas of improvement within accounting department to increase efficiencies and develop streamlined accounting processes, implementing solutions accordingly.
  • Participate in special projects and ad hoc reporting requests as needed.

What you have:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related discipline (required)
  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal controls over financial reporting as implemented in a public company (required)
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in accounting and staff that include journal entry review and preparation, standard general ledger system accounting functions, account reconciliations, and leased asset accounting
  • Ability to interpret and analyze commonly used financial reports including company financial statements, variance reports, etc. (required)
  • SAP accounting experience (required, Hana preferred)
  • HFM 11.2 experience (preferred, but not required)
  • CPA active certification (strongly preferred)
  • CoStar or similar lease accounting, Blackline or other similar close management accounting software experience (preferred, but not required)
  • Advance level proficiency with Microsoft Office software package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) (required)
  • Experience in multi-entity international environment (preferred, but not required)
