Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance required; CPA or MBA preferred.
  • In depth knowledge of Federal fund accounting principles, procedures, and U.S. Government Standard General Ledger.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in federal accounting.
  • Experience in reviewing/auditing Federal financial operations, preferably compliance reviews of federal financial processes.
  • Knowledge and experience related to automated financial management systems, including accounting, travel and/or budget systems used by Federal agencies, preferably but not mandatory: Momentum Financial Systems, E2 and MLINQS.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship skills, ability to build and maintain effective relationships at all levels.
  • Proficiency in the use of Windows Office Software, i.e., Access, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Responsibilities:
  • Performs assigned tasks under direction of team leadership;
  • Attend meetings as needed, participating in team collaboration to ensure project completion.
  • Auditing and processing Permanent Change of Station (PCS) vouchers in accordance with DEA policies. This includes the processing of RITA (Relocation Income Tax Allowance) vouchers.
  • Audit/process all vouchers in accordance with DEA policies, ensure all source documentation is complete and proper, and enter the voucher in the financial management system.
  • Conducting follow-up with the travelers regarding missing/incomplete data, as necessary
  • Assisting with GBL voucher processing, and monthly reporting and submission to GSA, as required.
  • Assisting with performance metrics reporting related to voucher processing volume and time.
  • Assist with all implementation tasks related to DEA's transition from UFMS to a new
  • relocation accounting system (MLINQS).
  • Supporting special or one-time projects, as needed.
  • Serving as a subject matter expert on PCS matters
  • Assisting other team members as required.
