The Senior Forecast Analyst owns the creation and communication of the demand and shipment forecasts for assigned brand(s). Applies business, technical, and analytical expertise utilizing forecasting tools to efficiently estimate "unconstrained" demand for assigned products. Collaborate with the Sales, Product Management, Supply Chain and Finance to finalize the "constrained shipment forecast." Advise the Product Management partners in support of business objectives, by providing a fact-based perspective on market dynamics, trends, opportunities, risks, and product performance. This position will utilize multiple data sources to provide critical insights in support of maximizing sales and minimizing inventory.

Responsibilities

  • Load, maintain, and utilize HBI systems (including SAS and EMS) to maintain demand signals to support forecasting processes and incorporate collaborative input from internal consensus participants. Manage appropriate level forecasts in SAS for weekly/monthly export to the operations planning process.
  • Develop and maintain demand signals for new, new-active, and core products by utilizing forecasting models, incorporating customer-supplied data, integrating market intelligence and/or applying other techniques to define the best methods to forecast customer demand.
  • Support long range capacity planning processes by maintaining unit forecasts for 18 months rolling forecast in SAS.
  • Analyze events vs. demand forecast and follow up with Sales and Marketing to reconcile supply/demand misalignments.
  • Analyze and consolidate large volumes of data (e.g., shipments and cancels, point-of-sale, distribution outlets, retail inventory, market share, and promotional activity), develop a fact-based point of view, and communicate to management via reporting.
  • Exhibit an in-depth knowledge of managing multiple data sources and provide business insight based on analysis and communication of sales, inventory, productivity, service level reporting, sell-through and other key financial metrics.
  • Communicate regularly with Sales, Product Management, Planning, and Customer Operations functions.
  • Identify key opportunities and obstacles inherent to the forecasting process. Assist management in continuous improvement of the process.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (preferred concentration in Mathematics, Statistics, Business, or other quantitative business discipline) and 3-5 years business/analytical experience.
  • Prior forecasting and planning support and analysis experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to lead and facilitate consensus meetings.
  • Ability to articulate assumptions, methods, and results to peers and management, and to influence decision making.
  • Strong math, analytical and conceptual skills.
  • Detail Orientation.
  • Strong computer skills - database and spreadsheet tools (especially Microsoft Excel).
  • Knowledge of Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Financial practices, and the Sales and Operations Planning process.
  • Understanding of forecasting methods and applications, including statistical modeling.
  • Understanding of supply chain management practices.
  • Ability to learn quickly, remain flexible and work in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
