How You'll Add Value...

As a member of Azenta's finance team, this role is an integral part of the monthly financial close process. This role is a critical team member of the corporate accounting team and will be instrumental to the success of the monthly financial close process. Strong accounting skills, organizational skills, forensic analysis, and time management skills are key for the successful candidate.

This role is an integral part of the monthly financial close process, and the individual is considered a key contributing member of the life sciences finance team. What You'll Do...

  • Responsible for General Ledger internal COA requests, validates accounting, new receipt types, etc.
  • Prepare:
    • hedging analysis report for Treasury regarding life science product entities
    • domestic fringe analysis reporting per schedule
    • schedules for revaluations as requested
    • 10Q/10K reporting schedules as required
  • Participant when requested:
    • M&A
    • Projects
    • systems implementations/integrations COA, balances, etc.
  • Participate in month end LEAN close processes by identifying improvements and willing to take ownership of assigned responsibilities.
  • Backs up team members as assigned, & ensures coverage and resilience within the department
  • Collaborates with FP&A regarding budgets/forecast/actuals. Responsible for domestic expenses alongside FP&A including journals, reporting, accruals, and analysis when required and/or requested.
  • Monthly analyzes, prepares, journals, and maintains:
    • prepaid insurance amortization schedule
    • bank account reconciliation domestic and international
    • intangibles amortization schedule
    • prepaid expense amortization schedule
    • prepare journals for M&A US employee payroll
    • investments & deferred compensation
    • ESPP (employee stock purchase program)
  • Administrative tasks regarding Oracle Cloud general ledger maintenance including the addition or termination of bank accounts for Purchasing or Accounts Payable, also Workday weekly FX rates, etc.
  • Prepare and pre and post manual journal entries, reconciles monthly balance sheet accounts
  • Proficient in MS Suite, HFM, Workday, etc.
  • Supports ME, QE and FYE efforts - prepares audit schedules, accruals, and manage the data flow of information to I/E Auditors
  • Backup as assigned, to ensure coverage and resilience within the department
  • Liaison with GL team & other teams on a variety of topics

What you will Bring...

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/ Finance with Strong Excel Skills
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience, with public company experience preferred
  • CPA or progress towards obtaining CPA is a plus
  • Experience using a large ERP system; Oracle Cloud general ledger experience preferred
  • Prior experience working in a global company that transacts in foreign currencies, preferably a publicly traded company

Working Conditions/ Schedule

  • Usually in a normal office environment with potential partial or 100% remote work options
