As a member of the Accounting and Finance team, the Senior Data Engineer will play a key role in Stenograph's key initiatives of ERP migration to Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) and digital transformation of business operations that will incorporate building of enterprise data lake and IoT infrastructure.

As member of the D365 Project team, the data engineer will play a critical role as the overall project Data Lead. This would include ownership, planning and execution of data cleansing and quality management tasks that would require knowledge on data quality tools and techniques. It would require the engineer's utmost attention to precision, speed and accuracy to deliver clean data in a short amount of time. Knowledge on building automated processes and reusable components is significantly important. The person will utilize ETL knowledge to work closely with organization's business process and data owners to drive and coordinate data mapping, transformation, and load activities to the target platform.

To help Stenograph in its digital transformation journey, the data engineer will play a pivotal role. At the core expectation of the role, the engineer will be expected to cover all aspects of data discovery, aggregation-segregation, transformation and ingestion of data. The person will play a lead role in working with both internal stakeholders and consultants for solution design of Data lake and IoTHub using leading cloud technologies. Engaging in results-driven communication with company SMEs to understand business processes and being a strategic partner in designing systems with in-depth insight and analytics are expected from this role as well.

Specific responsibilities include:

Ownership and maintenance of BI System

  • Architect solutions based on both functional and technical capabilities.
  • Ability to lead a project from requirements gathering, business and technical design and implementation/documentation and automation.
  • Create/conduct testing to validate that engineering solutions meet documented specifications. Ensures assigned projects are delivered in alignment with Stenograph's best practices
  • Design data quality and profiling framework using knowledge and expertise on such tools to deliver quality data to target DB or systems.
  • Design and build Microsoft D365 solutions implementation / Integrating data from various platforms to data lake and Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) platform
  • Setup of data warehouse and data lake and ability to extract, transform and load data in desired format. Design and execution of data migration strategies
  • Enforce data security and setup of Identity and Access Management and security roles
  • Demonstrate the capacity to plan, prioritize and organize your time, project schedules and multiple project activities

Qualifications

The individual will have the following experience and attributes:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or a related field preferred. Master's a plus.
  • Experience in object-oriented languages C++, C#, Python preferred
  • Desirable but not required - workload certifications/degrees
  • 5+ years' experience with SQLSERVER and POSTGRES database
  • 3+ years' experience with data quality and cleansing tools like Microsoft Data Quality Services or DQS (preferred), Tibco, DataLadder etc.
  • 3+ years' experience on data profiling techniques
  • Experience in Data warehouse and Data extraction transformation and loading - ETL, pipelines setup and processing
  • Data Ingestion from various sources (machines, 3rd party as well as internal databases)
  • Data modeling and design, ability to write efficient SQL/TSQL and map data source data (from machines) to SQLSERVER database
  • Driving and designing a solution strategy as part of the overall opportunity lifecycle
  • Knowledge in Commercial cloud offerings, ideally Microsoft's cloud platform, as well as competitive knowledge of other business applications solutions and related ecosystems. MS Azure experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Data streaming, IoT Hub, Sending Data Telemetry to Azure streams Analytics
  • Knowledge in MS Azure Data Factory - Create pipelines, schedule triggers, create mappings and setup Integration Runtime
  • Data lake setup experience. Familiar with STAR schema
  • Adept in collaboration with technical and business teams
  • 5 years' project leadership experience, including 2+ years' experience leading enterprise-level projects in a professional services or consulting environment.
