The Senior Director, Cyber Security is responsible for managing the Cyber Security program for two subsidiaries of Elevance Health (AIM Specialty Health/myNEXUS), under the direction of the Business Information Security Officer (BISO).

How you will make an impact:

Build relationships, trust, and communications with business unit leaders

  • Facilitate timely security support for business unit priorities and initiatives.
  • Champion the Cyber Security strategy with the business unit leadership.
  • Triage business-impacting security issues.
  • Provide early business unit-wide visibility to long-range CISO plans.
  • Interfaces with key Information Technology (IT) solution vendors; develops strategies and facilitates performance measurement plans to optimize vendor and associate performance and outcomes.
  • Lead response in the case of security incidents in partnership with Legal, Privacy & Compliance.
Develop and promote the Cyber Security roadmap for AIM/myNexus
  • Reduce risk by increasing enterprise integration.
  • Align Security and business strategies.
  • Drive adoption of Elevance Health Cyber Security services, policies, and standards within the business unit.
Promote continuous risk management maturity
  • Identify and address business unit-specific risks.
  • Identify and measure business unit-specific metrics.
  • Gather feedback on the design and operation of security controls and services.
  • Meet or exceed SLA targets.
Build and develop the Cyber Security Team
  • Increase collaboration and alignment between business unit and Elevance Health CISO teams.
  • Improve Cyber Security education outreach to front-line associates.
  • Improve retention through increased organizational growth and development opportunities.
  • Oversee strategic planning, budget development, and management for a single large or multiple cost centers, contract compliance, and any necessary integration of government regulatory requirements.
  • Hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and evaluates performance of direct reports.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Requires an BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study and a minimum of 8 years of IT management experience, experience in function/area being managed, experience managing multiple tasks and projects; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Experience, expertise and/or specific certification may be required.
Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:
  • Health insurance or other highly regulated industry (Finance, Banking, Pharma, Medical) experience strongly preferred
  • CISSP, or other security certification
  • Demonstrated experience leading a Cyber Security team
  • Experience with end-to-end Cyber Security solutions delivery
