Reporting to the ReedTech CTO, this critical new role of Senior Director, Technical Operations will be accountable for leading a global team for the provision, care, maintenance, and operational control of the current heavily virtualized infrastructure. They will be particularly focused on monitoring application patching, as well as maintaining effective security and access controls. With the move to the cloud, the Senior Director will be accountable for developing a cohesive, rigorous, care focused approach to the infrastructure's operations and governance which will ensure the operational availability of all key client and internal systems.

Principle accountabilities:

The successful candidate will

  • work with the production team to bring a consistent approach to securely deploying applications.
  • bring clarity enterprise-wide to the cost of ownership and will establish associated operational metrics;
  • manage end user computing (EUC) for our 2000 seat organisation and its associated call center/ primary response systems with the goal of driving NPS improvements.


Skillset and experience required:
  • You will be able to demonstrate experience perhaps gained in a smaller enterprise, of effectively and securely running a similar mixed environment and transitioning from a legacy on-premise infrastructure to the cloud.
  • You will have integrated a DevOps process while driving improved governance and process in interacting with the application development team.
  • Strong understanding of business enabling security strategies and knowledge of associated infosec hardware and software.
  • Advanced communication and customer service skills applicable to interfacing with a variety of audiences across the business including senior leadership, internal and external customers.
  • Experience of encouraging new ideas from their team to foster improvements through innovations while empowering them to be accountable and responsible for their own decisions.
