Summary of Role:

GlobalFoundries Fab 9, Essex, VT, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Facilities Electrical Technician to become part of our team. This position requires operation and maintenance of Facilities electrical/mechanical equipment in our 200mm Semiconductor Manufacturing facility. This role is eligible for up to a $5,000 sign on bonus, and a comprehensive full time benefits package!! This will be a M-F schedule (7-330PM), with some rotating holiday / weekend coverage as needed.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Operate, maintain, and repair facilities electrical systems up to 115kV in compliance with all local, state and federal requirements
• Read and understand electrical schematics
• Perform preventative electrical and mechanical maintenance and on various facilities related electrical equipment
• Troubleshoot and repair facilities electrical systems.
• Assist in the creation of operations and maintenance specifications
• Support complex troubleshooting of facilities equipment and associated failures
• Partner with other Technicians and Management in identifying training requirements and safety procedures in assigned areas
• Partner with Engineers and Technicians on various facilities projects
• Perform additional duties as assigned and assist other specialty areas as required

Other Responsibilities:

• Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.
• Other duties as assigned by manager / supervisor.

Required Qualifications:

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience - Minimum Years 2 years in field, and minimum 1 Year of Industrial/Commercial System Experience
• Completion or enrollment in the 4-Year State of Vermont Electrician Apprenticeship Program or equivalent
• Certified Electrical License (Apprentice, Journeyman or Master)
• Fluency in English Language - both written & verbal
• Physical Capacity Demands - Ability to perform work in a standing position for majority of shift (excluding breaks)
  • Ability to lift, pull, and/or carry a minimum of 50 pounds on a periodic basis throughout the shift
  • Ability to perform activities that include climbing vertical ladders, bending at waist, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and crawling
  • Ability to work in a cleanroom environment per semi-conductor protocol/requirements
  • Able to wear upgraded PPE in accordance with Safety procedures, such as N95 Dust Mask or other air filtering devices.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2 Year Technical Degree
• Demonstrated knowledge of Semiconductor FAB systems and related equipment
• Demonstrated ability to operate computer programs including Microsoft Office
• Previous Semiconductor manufacturing experience
• Preventative maintenance software and automated building control systems knowledge a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures to complete tasks and required documentation.
• Demonstrated work performance in an environment requiring high level of attention to detail and timeliness.
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize activities.
• Demonstrated mechanical/electrical abilities with experience in maintenance and operation of equipment
• Strong team player with ability to work well within a global team

Expected Salary Range
$42,400.00 - $76,300.00

The exact Salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience and location.
