Job Summary

The Teradata Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for managing and maintaining the Long Ranged Financial Strategic Plan for Teradata, incorporating adjustments as needed and performing scenario analysis. The Senior Financial Analyst will support and review new Product Management business cases and incorporate updates in the Plan as appropriate.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Financial Analyst maintains Long Range Financial Strategic Plan and status of Product Management business cases, providing monthly updates as appropriate. Some key responsibilities include:

  • Manage and Maintain Long Range Financial Strategic Plan
    • Maintain and enhance existing 3-5 year plan model
    • Support and manage iterations with Strategic Plan
    • Enhance and develop detail schedules behind Plan
      • Bookings/ARR/Revenue waterfall
      • Margin bridge by product lines
      • Opex drivers
      • Cashflow model
    • Leverage Historical data and business case information to improve quality of Plan model
    • Prepare summary reports for Executive team
  • Generate and maintain standard template for R&D Financial Model to incorporate:
    • Total Market Assessment and growth
    • Expected Revenue and margin
    • Engineering effort and cost
    • Standard financial metrics
    • Provide training and support to key users (Product Management, Program Management, Engineering)
  • Review and validate model assumptions
    • Ensure relative consistency across models
    • Generate tracking reports:
      • Revenue and margin generated from completed projects
    • Incorporate Models in Long Range Strategic Plan as appropriate
  • Perform Adhoc financial analysis to support Finance organization

Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economic, or highly analytical field (e.g. Engineering, Math, and Computer Science)
  • 1-2 years accounting experience
  • Master's Degree in Business Administration preferred
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in Finance or Finance-related specialties, cross functional projects
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles
  • Knowledge of Hyperion, Oracle, other Financial Management tools
  • Demonstrated financial modeling and analysis skills
  • Experience financial reporting
  • Proven ability to develop new ideas and creative solutions
  • Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic, transforming organization is a must
