The Sr. HR Generalist is the primary resource to create alignment between Human Resources and business strategy to their aligned business units, leaders, and functions. The Sr. HR Generalist will provide HR expertise and consulting to achieve current and future business objectives through the development of proactive HR strategies and practices. The Sr. HR Generalist coordinates and delivers various employee programs and projects as well as executes daily basic HR activities across assigned location(s) covering multiple HR areas. Provides other HR support as needed.

This position is responsible for assisting with the following Human Resources functions: Labor needs, Orientation & Training, employee activities/events, employee relations, attendance tracking, HRIS input and other support as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide HR partnership, for both strategic and tactical initiatives, day to day HR support and execution of strategies for assigned business groups.
  • Builds and maintains effective working relationships with leaders and employees to provide guidance and counsel on a variety of HR and business-related issues on both strategic and tactical levels.
  • Provides influence and guidance to client groups through developing partnerships to support achieving business objectives within the assigned populations.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll and benefits, including health and dental, 401k, PTO, FMLA, and general employee personnel issues.
  • Anticipate and plan for long-term human resource needs and trends in partnership with business management.
  • Responsible for ensuring facility staffing levels are at goal within the facility by finding creative staffing solutions and partnering with outside staffing agencies for labor needs as needed.
  • Conduct new employee onboarding and orientation activities including compilation of new hire paperwork and overview of company policies.
  • Maintains employee related files such as pre-employment, onboarding, training, and disciplinary personnel documents. Ensure timely and accurate entries to the HRIS databases.
  • Monitors and audits employee attendance records to include, absenteeism, personal days, and disciplinary action.
  • Develop and maintain reports such as staffing levels, turnover, absenteeism, timecard reports and monthly HR reports as needed.
  • Administers various human resource plans and procedures; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains employee handbook and policies and procedures manual.
  • Responsible for the administering the performance review and merit increase processes within assigned groups.
  • Perform employee relations functions including support and counseling regarding personnel and job-related conflicts, problem solving and dispute resolution, managing employee performance issues, review, and assessment of termination requests; conduct exit interviews
  • Participates and or leads various committees such as employee activities and events, engagement initiatives, recognition programs. Generates positive employee relations ideas and implement programs that will enhance employee relations.
Education and Certifications:
A combination of education and experience equivalent to a four-year degree in Human Resources Management, Business, Organizational Development/Communication, or Public Relations and 3 years' experience. PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
Requirements:
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to accomplish multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to grasp concepts and procedures quickly.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality of all HR-related information.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and an understanding of information technology and relational database applications, preferably Oracle HCM.
  • Strong detail orientation and ability to multi-task with little direct supervision.
  • Strong judgment, decisiveness, interpersonal skills to work effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Problem solving skills and the ability to lead, instruct, handle a large variety of details and to work with all levels of organization.
  • Proficient in the use of e-mail, word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software and use of the Internet to access data, maintain records, generate reports, and communicate with others
  • 3-5 years experience
