Dow has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Senior ISC Improvement Specialist located in Midland, Michigan or Houston, Texas!

The Senior ISC Improvement Specialist supports business growth, service enhancements, and cost to serve productivity gains by identifying and implementing, through project work, supply chain and end-to-end (E2E) improvements to a single business, multiple businesses or an envelope. Interacts with global or other regional teams, when needed. Assists in defining work process and system solutions, executing against strategy, utilizing design principles, through collaboration with global and regional peers and business and functional stakeholders. Ensures adherence to compliance and regulatory requirements and provides ongoing training, support and design enhancements across strategic solutions utilized by our partners. Works under the functional guidance of a Global Business Director and is a member of a team of global and regional Improvement team. Collaborates with other Business Process Teams both within and outside of ISC as well as counterparts within the I/S organization. Acts as subject matter expert responsible for providing deep functional and OMP/SAP user expertise for work processes, applications and products aligned with and/or utilized in ISC, with focus on planning and scheduling.

Responsibilities / Duties

  • This position will represent the business in the design workshops and provides business practice knowledge to aid design of Industry leading supply chain work process/systems solutions for the business. He / She will also validate the design or best practices solution with business and IS partners to ensure design provides the expected outcomes for work processes and systems integration. The role is expected to be a primary point of contact for business partners for cross functional area of responsibility and also to execute some key processes in the SAP ECC, OMP and/or non-SAP systems.

  • This position will also assume lead role for small through large improvement projects regionally and/or globally. He / She is going to be the key member within P&SP ISC and will play pivotal role in transformation of digital capabilities of The Dow Chemical Company.

  • This role will primarily be self-directed, work with multi-talented teams of Planners and schedulers, SAP/Non-SAP specialists to address complex cross functional business problems, and complete projects on an accelerated project schedule. This role Integrates technical expertise and business / work process understanding to create innovative solutions for the internal and external stakeholders in order to deliver superior experience for our employees and customers. You may be called to solve work process / system integration designs/issues between ISC and other functions to get a fully functioning end to end solution.

  • Collaborates and participates in strategy definition with global peers, regional teams, business and functional stakeholders.

  • Provides ongoing training, support, design enhancements. Drives automation and productivity efficiencies.

  • Interfaces with DSS for system development, support and issue resolution of regional or global requirements.

  • Accountable to possess in-depth understanding and knowledge of the work process, systems, tools and metrics.

  • Participates as business representative in corporate initiatives and projects executed by the DSS organization, which may include requirements gathering, evaluation, testing set up and execution, data transition and migration activities, and implementation.

  • Monitors consistency between promised and delivered value and functionality to our customers/internal partners.

  • Drives change in work process and systems - must be comfortable with managing change with diverse stakeholder groups.

The critical competencies required for success are: supply chain management skills, interpersonal effectiveness, understanding customer needs, team work, taking initiative, problem solving skills, value creation, technical proficiency in use of computer applications, analytical skills and project management skills.

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree or relevant military experience at an E6 rank/Petty Officer 2nd Class or higher is required.

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Supply Chain is required.

  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree discipline in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering or other Sciences is preferred.

  • Prior SAP and OMP experience is preferred.

  • Planning and scheduling experience is preferred.
