Position Summary

The Data Application Developer Engineer role in Data & Analytics (D&A) will have end-to-end accountability to development and support all the production applications for validated systems of the Data Technologies & Analytics Enablement (DT&AE) function within D&A.

This role's primary responsibility is requirement gathering and understanding, estimate, design, develop and deploy the production solution and resolving production issues. The candidate will be accountable to develop a strategic support model leveraging cost-effective vendor partners who are focused on quality and high service levels.

Data/Software Engineer will assist other engineers by contributing to product development and improving processes. Beyond the core capability of production application support, areas of focus could include r&d or automations.

This role will represent DT&AE in various business meetings, coordinate with the Product Owner, Engineering Team Leads, and Client Services personnel to define, document, and investigate service requests and client inquiries. Candidate will also support various data analysis operations, including direct querying of databases and data storage systems.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Establish tools and process: Establish and unify the process of managing development and support products. The responsibility involves learning about the tools that are available and getting them configured optimally for our use case, identify gaps in currently available tools and propose options on addressing those gap keeping existing tools in mind.
• Troubleshoot Issues : When technical issues with the product arise, support engineer must act quickly to analyze the available data and find the root cause of the problem. Candidate may then develop a solution themselves or pass the problem on to other engineering team members, all the while providing users with progress updates.
• Prepare Technical Documentation : engineer prepare extensive documentation when logging product issues, as candidate must note all details, including all observations, diagnoses, and action steps. Other common tasks include weekly reports summarizing production performance, release notes for upgrades, and troubleshooting guides.
• Suggest Improvements : Engineer deal with product issues firsthand, candidate can readily suggest overall product improvements, such as features that customers want. Ideally, candidate should also proactively evaluate engineering processes and provide recommendations to increase efficiency.
• Support and develop new data flows using available technical solutions
• Provide prompt and accurate feedback to customers, ensure all issues are properly logged

Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, Education, and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent is required.
• Minimum 7+ years of development experience is required.
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in pharamcetical industry.
• Minimum 5+ years of Java and/or Python is a must
• Minimum 5+ years of Angular/React/Vue JS is a must
• Experience in managing FSP/MSPs (Managed Service providers) and/or contract workers for the outcome-based testing services
• Knowledge of both RDBMS (PostgreSQL, MySQL etc.) and NoSQL (MongoDB) database is a must
• Knowledge of data platform technologies like Hadoop, Spark, Informatica, Snowflake preferred
• Knowledge of one or more BI (Tableau, PowerBI) is preferred
