Job Description Summary

This position is responsible for all accounting functions performed at our Lamb Weston/RDO Frozen Joint Venture manufacturing facility including supervising a team of financial employees who perform a variety of accounting duties. The Sr Finance Manager oversees various activity areas such as general accounting, cost accounting, budgeting, and payroll. Primary duties include the preparation of all period financial manufacturing reports in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), general ledger controls, preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations, period-end close, preparation of recurring requests from LW Corporate Accounting, internal and external audits, analysis of financial results and ultimately provide advice to management. This includes management of manufacturing cost information analysis including weekly manufacturing cost estimates and variances, monthly actual results and variances, forecasts and budget preparation. This position also ensures maintenance of general accounting, cost accounting, payroll, payables and receivables. The position reports to the Director of Finance - Operations, there is also a dotted line to the Plant Manager.

Job Description

  • Responsible for supervision of period close activities to ensure timely completion of tasks for assigned pooled resource teams
  • Participate in internal and external audits
  • Provide financial information to Operations Manager and other department managers of the plant organization as requested in timely and accurate manner
  • Supervise and train financial accounting staff by providing the necessary guidance to properly develop their general accounting skills
  • Review and/or prepare balance sheet account reconciliations and perform an aggressive review of the balance sheet for assigned area
  • Ensure all accounting transactions are properly recorded in accordance with US GAAP as well as in accordance with policies and common business language as defined by the LW Corporate Accounting group
  • Prepare Financial Statements (P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow) for the Joint Venture.
  • Ensure compliance with banking covenants, providing required reporting to the banking institutions as needed.
  • Implement corporate initiatives and maintain an elevated level of financial and internal controls
  • Evaluate effectiveness of processes and procedures and develop improvements as needed
  • Responsible for accurate and timely management of the fixed assets Administration
  • Facilitate semi-annual Lamb Weston/RDO Frozen management committee meetings
  • Deliver and present accurate AOP (Annual Operating Plan), financial statements, strategic plans, and forecasts for the partnership.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to help support the business needs of the JV (tax, risk management & insurance, legal, treasury, Ag etc.)
  • Act as the 401K trustee for the JV hourly employee 401k plan
  • This role will be heavily involved in the planned ERP implementation and supporting preparation and testing.
  • Effectively manage capital planning and investment in alignment with company policies and the cashflow management of the joint venture

Basic & Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance/business required
  • CPA, CMA certification and/or advanced degree strongly preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in public accounting, corporate accounting and /or cost accounting.
  • Experience in managing and leading a team.
  • Manufacturing company experience a plus
  • Excellent communication and conflict management skills
  • Excellent computer skills (including Excel, GL Software and Databases) required
  • Proactive and hands-on personality with excellent analytical skills

This compensation is specific to this position and takes into account a number of variables. Actual compensation may be higher or lower in the range posted based on various factors, including, but not limited to, job duties, experience and expertise. A candidate's work location could also impact the actual compensation being outside of the range to reflect local cost of labor. A reasonable annual estimate of the range for this role based on the variables previously mentioned is: $120,290.00 - $180,420.00
