The Senior Manager of Fleet Reliability is responsible for maintaining the quality and reliability of the fleet by overseeing new truck quality, managing warranties, and standardizing fleet specifications to reduce costs. You will collaborate closely with the VP of Maintenance and Area Fleet Directors to develop fleet strategies and enhance sustainability through alternative fuels through partnership with the Director of Maintenance and Sustainability.

Job Duties

  • Quality Management: Lead truck quality programs, identify deficiencies, and collaborate with OEMs to ensure resolutions.
  • Fleet Standardization: Develop heavy truck specifications to standardize the fleet, working with internal stakeholders and OEMs.
  • Utilization: Monitor fleet utilization using Power BI, adjusting for optimal deployment or retirement of assets.
  • Warranty Recovery: Collaborate with the Warranty Manager and Fleet Directors to promote warranty recovery on new trucks and aftermarket parts.
  • Strategic Planning: Work with the VP of Maintenance to develop a one-year and five-year fleet replacement strategy, using data from M5 and Power BI.
  • Need Assessments: Coordinate with procurement to align fleet needs with new and lost contracts.
  • Support VP of Maintenance: Assist with acquisitions and address other fleet-related needs.

Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years in operational support for large business applications, and five or more years in fleet/equipment maintenance.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with maintenance operating systems and willingness to learn M5; proficient in MS Windows and networking fundamentals.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong skills in business analysis, data management, and Excel.
  • Leadership and Training: Ability to train others and guide teams effectively.
  • Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of fleet specifications and maintenance in high volume growth environments.
  • Support Flexibility: Ability to provide after-hours support and manage remote teams.

Bonus
  • Experience with various fleet management software.
  • Fluency in French or Spanish.
  • Willingness to travel on short notice.
  • Experience interacting with OEM suppliers.
  • Willingness to relocate to the Jacksonville Floria area.
  • Prior experience within the waste industry.
  • Prior experience with heavy vehicle warranty processes.
