This position can be based in Southaven, MS, El Paso, TX, New York, NY, Marlborough, MA or Irvine, CA.

What you will be doing:

The Senior Manager of MDM & Governance will work in a team structure supporting the alignment of our business, operations, up and coming governance and technology teams on enterprise-wide MDM practices. Will collaborate with business and technology in mapping out current and future MDM states, business processes, system interfaces, and will support the definition and implementation of governance and technology platforms needed to enable a single source of truth for Product and Customer Data. This role will investigate current state analysis including all aspects of Product and Customer data integration across the ecosystem of business processes. The candidate will use current state analysis to contribute to future state requirements, process design, standard methodology implementation, technology analysis and selections.

This individual will be a principal project team member and Subject Matter Authority, passionate about organization-wide data & supporting analytics governance activities and will have responsibility for improving the data integrity, quality and governance of enterprise data through the data life cycle for all Products and Customers (B2B and DTC). The position will support the alignment of an enterprise data governance framework for operationalizing Master Data Management, Metadata Management, and other data policies while tracking relevant metrics to meet overall business needs.


  • Contribute to the definition of strategic roadmap and the operational framework for Enterprise Master Data Management and Master Data Governance, with the project team and with key partners

  • Support the development of the roadmap for standardized data structures, attributes, taxonomies and needed governance for Product and Customer masters across multiple brands, systems, operating units, in agreement with our long-term ERP and WMS Strategies

  • Work closely with project leadership and business teams to support Data Models in alignment with WMS and ERP Implementations

  • Support the development, testing and deployment modeling of Master Data Governance framework for Product and Customer Masters in partnership with division and brand leaders

  • Contribute to the development of an effective Governance Model with the right balance of Structure, Standardization, Speed, Agility, and Business / Brand requirements to build a foundation for developing mature MDM/MDG teams and long-term organizational capabilities

  • Educate and train business and operations teams on data stewardship and MDM standard methodologies by providing needed exception reports, analytics, and continuous process improvement recommendations

  • Document and redesign business process flows

  • Provide oversight into data, data systems, and process improvements required to track and improve data quality

  • Track key performance indicators for quality and compliance metrics to ensure data related policies and standards are followed and being embraced, leading to a data governance scorecard

  • Acts as a SME to explain facets of MDM data exchange and processing, business user involvement, and overall architecture acting as a liaison between Business Partners and Technology teams

  • Led by example, while facilitating a Power of One culture

  • Support all team members during training to help them become multi-functional specialists and provide support where and when needed


Skills needed to be successful in this role:

  • Hands on approach, while leading through influence is a Project Team environment

  • Proven track record and experience of optimally standing up MDM and/or CRM solutions, or any similar Product or Customer master platforms

  • Proven understanding of Product and Customer data (B2B and DTC), and the needed data structures and taxonomies to support successful end-to-end lifecycle

  • Validated ability to support change across a large organization

  • Strong execution and implementation ability in a complicated business environment


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or appropriate combination of education and experience in crucial duties and responsibilities

  • 3+ years experience in master data management technology

  • 3+ years experience in business analysis or business process re-engineering

  • 3+ years crafting, implementing, supporting, and analyzing enterprise scale database solutions that perform extract/transform/load (ETL) operations with internal and external data sources

  • Solid grasp of master data management in consumer goods industry

  • Demonstrable experience in defining standard methodologies in areas such as Product and Customer data management, product attribution and taxonomies, metadata management, data quality management, root cause analysis and process design

  • Expertise in 1-2 MDM tools and hands on experience

  • Prior project management experience

  • Strong intuition for business and analytical skills

  • Ability to travel 20-25%

  • Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Solid grasp of data, databases, data tools (e.g. SQL) and data processing experience
