We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Medical Technologist to join our dynamic laboratory team.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Perform, evaluate, and report a comprehensive range of laboratory tests on various body fluids using advanced automated and manual methodologies.
• Demonstrate expertise in various laboratory departments (depending on shift) including Hematology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Serology, Urinalysis, and Blood Bank.
• Operate and maintain sophisticated laboratory equipment, perform preventative maintenance, and troubleshoot issues as needed.
• Ensure quality control by performing, evaluating, and documenting procedures.
• Participate in proficiency testing programs.
• Maintain adequate laboratory supplies and communicate needs effectively.
• Contribute to the training and development of students and new employees.
• Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and maintain professional competency.
• Assist with department quality assurance and process improvement initiatives.
• Possess the qualifications to act as a lead technician when necessary.
• Collaborate with the supervisor to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Work effectively with the laboratory IT department to implement technological advancements.
• Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures regarding mandatory education, health assessments, and licensure.

Qualifications:

• Must be licensed as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist by the New York State Education Department and/or be certified as a Medical Technologist by ASCP or AMT.
• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or a related scientific field.
• Experience working in a highly automated laboratory environment is a plus.
• Independent, mature, self-motivated, reliable, and responsible.
• Ability to care for patients of all ages.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills and multitasking abilities.
