As a Senior Packaging Engineer, this individual will be responsible for the development and maintenance of packaging in support of all YETI product, acting as a critical connector between YETI, packaging suppliers, and product manufacturers around the world. This individual will design and develop premium out-of-box experiences for YETI products while taking into account performance, sustainability, and cost.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of packaging solutions for new and existing products.
• Manage packaging specifications, including: dielines, artwork, material detail, sustainability attributes, pallet patterns, container configurations, and assembly/pack-out steps.
• Work cross functionally with Program Managers, Category Managers, Design & Industrial Engineering, Marketing, Merchandising, Sourcing, Operations, International team members, and external suppliers to execute on-time packaging solutions.
• Support 3PL and Custom Shop facilities with insight regarding inbound and outbound packaging materials & processes; obsessing over ways to increase efficiencies and/or execute special brand moments.
• Manage the packaging timeline for each project, ensuring on-time delivery of milestones are completed in sync with the product launch timeline. Monitor KPI's and support the enhancement of packaging standards at YETI.
• Research and stay up to date on packaging innovations and sustainable materials in the marketplace and with suppliers. Relay new viable ideas to all major stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's of Science in Packaging Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or related degree with 6+ years of Packaging or Industrial Design experience
• Fluent in packaging testing methodology (i.e. ISTA & ASTM) and packaging software (TOPS, MaxLoad Pro, or similar).
• Able to prioritize activities that have the biggest impact while effectively managing multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
• Desire to work in a dynamic, fast-past, growing global brand.
• Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
