What can you expect?

  • Work within the MMC-wide Cyber Risk Analytics Center to deliver best in class cyber analytics to MMC's internal and external clients
  • Interact with stakeholders across the organization to develop tools to help deploy our models broadly to internal and external clients
  • Collaborate with other members of the Analytics team

We will count on you to:
  • Work with the team members of the MMC Cyber Risk Analytics Center to get their code to software engineering standards that among other items include automated testing, guaranteed reproducibility of model results, and maintainable code that scales effortlessly with future requirements.
  • Properly document all existing and new code
  • Improve the computational efficiency of our existing and new cyber models
  • Develop APIs for internal and external use to allow our stakeholders to access our data, models, and analytics in a more self-sufficient manner, ensuring that legal and business requirements are met
  • Collaborate with colleagues within the MMC Cyber Risk Analytics Center, other analytics groups across the company, and third party vendors

What you need to have:
  • Computer science / software engineering educational background, masters or PhD preferred
  • 5+ years software engineering experience and understanding of software engineering best practices such as the 12-factor app and Agile methodologies.
  • Experience in taking "research code" developed by non software engineers and making it more streamlined and efficient
  • Experience designing and building secure REST APIs to be used internally and externally
  • Experience with a variety of AWS services
  • Interest in cyber risk and cyber analytics
  • Programming skills in languages such as Python or SQL
  • Insurance background, especially cyber insurance background, a plus but not required
