What You Will Contribute:


The Technical Writer position is responsible for producing quality, accurate and effective documentation that benefits our customers and contributes to the overall success of Badger Meter products. Works collaboratively with developers, engineers and product managers to understand our products and make our products easier to use. Researches, writes and communicates complex and technical information in a way that can be easily understood.

Major Job Duties/Accountability:

  • Works with project team members (subject matter experts) to obtain an in-depth understanding of the product and the documentation requirements.
  • Organizes information for presentation in a way that makes sense for the topic. Follows department standards and style guide.
  • Analyzes existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities.
  • Additional projects, tasks, and/or assignments as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of experience
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Technical Communication or related field from a four year college
  • Excellent writing, proofing and editing skills
  • Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make easily understandable in text and graphics
  • Ability to schedule and prioritize workload
  • Working experience in writing technical documentation
