This job will have the following responsibilities:

• Builds, documents, and maintains:
  
  o Servers
  
  o Storage
  
  o Virtual environments
  
  • Decommission servers.
  
  • Perform regular tests of the DR process and backup systems.
  
  • Ensure servers are monitored correctly and address alerts promptly.
  
  • Ensure servers are backed up according to policy and restore files and servers when requested.
  
  • Install and configure blade servers and rack mountable servers including UPS and blade enclosures.
  
  • Work with Network group for switch port needs and if any connectivity issues with servers. Supports virtual server environment. Manage and maintain High Availability Failover clusters using VMware, VPLEX, and Microsoft Hyper-V.
  
  • Work with the Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) teams on SCADA deployments and troubleshooting.
  
  • Field tier 3 Helpdesk calls and coordinates problem resolution.
  
  • Provide on-call support (24x7) and travel to field locations when required.
  
  • Participate in the development of state of good repair roadmap for server and storage technology to ensure all environments are maintained and comply with all security policies and directives.
  
  • Log issues in our tracking system and coordinate problem resolution with other working groups; and ensure that appropriate communication, hand-off, and follow-through occur.
  
  • Involved in supporting end users through the following technology initiatives:
  
  o Security patches and remediations.
  
  o Installing and configuring Server hardware, Operating Systems, Application Software such as Oracle and SQL databases as well as other management application software.
  
  • Perform system updates, upgrades, and maintenance per server schedules.
  
  • Maintain system inventory.
  
  • Meet SLAs for incidents and work orders.
  
  • Collaborate with other teams as needed.
  
  • Maintaining Microsoft Windows Servers, Active Directory and associated services
  
  Qualifications
  
  • Knowledge of Windows and Linux (RedHat and CentOS) operating systems
  
  • 3+ years proven experience performing server hardware troubleshooting, repair, and configuration.
  
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or business or 5+ years of relevant work experience
  
  • Proven experience installing and supporting storage environments.
  
  • Experience in monitoring servers and applications.
  
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams.
  
  • Ability to develop relationships within the team and across IT.
  
  • Good communication skills and proven record of ensuring proper documentation is completed and kept up to date.
  
  • Must be process oriented and have strong organization skills
