Job Title: HVAC Service Manager

Job Summary: EMCOR Services Team Mechanical, Inc has an opportunity for an HVAC Service Manager in the Chicagoland area.

The HVAC Service Manager essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist Account Managers in defining the technical requirements for proper HVAC & R equipment service and repair. Must follow through and monitor performance of the service staff in meeting these technical requirements
  • Provide assistance, guidance, and training to subordinate personnel (Lead Service Technicians, Service Technicians, and Apprentices) in performing their respective assignments
  • Provide assistance/guidance to interdepartmental personnel (Dispatchers, Purchasing Agents, Administrative/Clerical Assistants) in performing their respective assignments
  • Ensure adherence to company/management policies and procedures
  • Cooperate in the management/maintenance of good customer and employee relations
  • Cooperate in the management/maintenance of proper and accurate documentation
  • Ensure personal accessibility to customers and employees.
  • Provide assistance/support to Account Managers in management of new and existing accounts.
  • Cooperate in the monitoring of employee performance and recommendation of personnel dismissal, reassignment, promotion, and/or additional staffing requirements.
  • Participate in the twenty-four hour on-call weekly rotation, as directed by the Vice President.
  • Communicate regularly with dispatch to ensure that personnel are being scheduled properly by skill level, efficiency and training requirements
  • Communicate daily with dispatch reporting on project information, estimated time to complete jobs, labor hours or material used
  • Directs and provides technical support for HVAC technicians to meet service demands and customer expectations
  • Review technician's work to ensure quality meets established standards, techniques and safety requirements; makes recommendations as requirements to improve quality and productivity
  • Travel to customer and job sites as required
  • Be responsible for refrigerant inventory of technician's refrigerant usage
  • Complete the service manager goals that are distributed each year
  • Ensure that all company/department policies are being followed by all HVAC technicians
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum of a high school diploma
  • Must possess valid driver's license and proof of insurability
  • Minimum seven (7) years' experience in HVAC
  • Satisfactory completion of industry aptitude test
  • EPA refrigeration certification (Universal)
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Team leader and team player
  • Professional appearance
  • Outstanding customer relations and satisfaction.
  • Outstanding employee relations and satisfaction.
  • Well managed and maintained documents and records.
  • Consistency in operations and procedures.
Physical demands of the HVAC Service Manager

Must be able to climb stairs and ladders.
