Shipping and Receiving Clerk

GDH Consulting is looking for a Shipping and Receiving Clerk for our client in Alpharetta, GA.  The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for verifying and keeping records related to inbound and outbound shipments, picks equipment to order and prepares items for shipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·        Examine shipments to ensure accuracy against sales orders.

·        Reports inventory levels of shipping materials and supplies to supervisor.

·        Report damaged or missing inventory

·        Enters receipt of goods on purchase orders on the computer.

·        Willing to take ownership and take on other duties as assigned

Qualifications

To perform this role successfully, the Shipping and Receiving Clerk must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, education, and overall experience required for the role. 

·        Ability to read and interpret documents                                            

·        Basic Mathematical Skills                                                         

·        Knowledge of MS Office products and ability to learn new software quickly.                        

·        Able to operate forklift and pallet jack, as well as ability to use various hand tools

·        Able to lift 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds

·        Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

·        Must have experience in shipping domestically and internationally

·        Must have experience with UPS and FedEx software

·        Comfortable working in a high-stress, face-paced environment with shifting priorities

·        Excellent time management, organizational, and analytical skills

·        Self-starter who can find and resolve issues as they are identified

·        Ability to successfully interface with a wide range of personnel within the organization
