The Position

The shipping coordinator, assists the shipping department by ensuring that finished goods are accurately stored, maintained, and shipped to customers. The shipping coordinator will utilize both computer systems for accurate administrative processes as well as assist shipping with the storage and loading of finished products.

Job Description

Primary Responsibilities

  • Process shipping paperwork for shipments of goods to external business.
  • Operate and maintain computerized databases and systems to ensure that administrative requirements and reports are accurate and complete.
  • Operate forklift for staging finished goods and for processing trucks for distribution.
  • Provide support to all areas of the shipping department as requested by supervision.
  • Ensure that all necessary tracking and recording databases and records are completed accurately to comply with regulatory and business requirements.
  • Process overnight/UPS Ground shipments as requested.
  • Gather daily orders from system and tag for shipment and scanning into system.
  • Assign carriers to orders from the carrier report received from trucking distribution company.
  • Complete lists of orders by LTL carriers and distribute to shipping personnel.
  • Contact LTL trucklines to schedule pickup.
  • Pull next day orders and complete descriptions of orders.
  • Create Bead Wire labels for the next day's orders.

Job Requirements

  • Five years of experience in manufacturing environment.
  • Self-motivated, responsible, and ambitious individual that can thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • The ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment.
