Position Summary

We seek a self-starting, team-oriented engineer to perform simulation-based Integration and Test activities in support of both R&D and Navy acquisition projects. You should be disciplined and detail-oriented, enjoy modeling and simulation, and collaborate well in a multi-disciplinary environment.

You will be part of a growing team that advances Conditionally Unmanned and Fully Autonomous technologies for military and commercial sea-going vessels, in particular unmanned surface vessels.

Responsibilities

You will perform the following tasks

  • Perform simulation-based testing of complex systems in support of development and Integration & Test phases. Test domains include Dynamics & Control, Autonomy, and Hardware-in-the-Loop simulators.
  • Develop component simulation models and data inputs using commercial modeling and simulation tools
  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts in dynamics, autonomy and control to develop simulation-based test and analysis plans. Interpret simulation results and develop test reports
  • Execute acceptance tests for evolving versions of the simulators, in collaboration with Subject Matter Experts and simulator developers. Create test and defect reports and review them with project leaders
  • Develop, maintain, document, and execute batch process scripting for simulation execution and post-process analysis
  • Participate in the development, maintenance, refinement and implementation of internal configuration management and quality control programs


Required Candidate Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience doing the following
    • Collaborating with technical teams to develop test and analysis requirements
    • Performing modeling and simulation of complex dynamics and control systems
    • Automating and scheduling simulation and analysis processes, and interpreting test results
    • Following configuration and data management procedures
    • Troubleshooting errors (hardware, software, and simulation )
    • Developing test plans and test reports
  • Good time management capabilities - able to both pace workload and provide feedback to leads on task progress. Eagerness to improve efficiency and streamline work procedures.
  • Excellent attention to detail and rigorous testing methodology
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
  • B.S. or higher in degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Software, or Physics or industry equivalent experience.
  • Active U.S. Secret clearance or the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret clearance

Desired Candidate Qualifications:
  • Experience using Matlab, Simulink, and Python
  • Familiarity with network systems and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
  • Experience supporting Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment processes
