Loparex LLC is the world's largest manufacturer of extrusion base and silicone coated release liners for the converting industry. We have manufacturing operations throughout the U.S., Europe, China, and India. The Malvern facility annually supplies three billion square feet of release liner worldwide. We are currently looking for high energy, safety focused and motivated individuals to join our Malvern, PA workforce as Slitter Operator/Films Helper.

Must be able to work 24/7 rotating shifts working 2 weeks of days and 2 weeks of nights including 2 weekends a month. Overtime availability.

Position Summary:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Understand and follow all applicable safety and environmental requirements.
  • Understand and follow parameters and specifications on work orders, schedules, and special instructions.
  • Operate machines independently or with other personnel to slit and rewind various materials according to current standards and procedures.
  • Monitor Equipment and processes for stability or changes in conditions. Take actions to correct problems so that productivity and waste are controlled to current standards.
  • Understand and follow the sampling plan for the product being produced. Verify product produced on the assigned production line meets quality standards for properties and characteristics.
  • Troubleshoot and correct process and material issues as they occur to control the quality and output of the assigned production process to current defined standards.
  • Input production data into the shop floor reporting systems and keep documents and records complete.
  • Assist Operators on primary converting lines in the Films department (Silicone Coating and Blown Film) to set up, adjust, load materials, maintain and operate equipment.
  • General housekeeping to keep work areas clean, neat, and orderly and perform routine maintenance as required.
  • Monitor material status and availability in the assigned area of responsibility to ensure commodities, packaging materials, operating supplies, and raw materials are prepared and ready for the next 4 hours. Keep the Supervisor / other Operators informed of problems in availability of materials so that corrections or decisions can be made with 2 hours notice.
  • Work to support continuous operations. This includes working to minimize downtime, especially around breaks, mealtime, shift changes, communicating to preceding and following shifts on issues and status of the production process, and leaving the following shift prepared for the next 4 hours. When assigned as a helper, keep the Line Operator advised of the materials status and machine adjustments as needed.
  • Train newly assigned Slitter Operators so that they possess the needed skills and knowledge to perform their assigned jobs safely and efficiently.
  • It is understood that this list of responsibilities is not all encompassing and that we are all expected to do any other duties that may be assigned to our jobs.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must have good record for attendance and punctuality and decorum.
  • Must work in a team environment, cooperating with co-workers and production leaders.
  • Must have good basic math skills for calculations.
  • Must be able to write and clearly communicate numbers and process information.
  • Must be able to read and understand written forms and instructions.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to climb stairs, reach, bend and push-pull.
Qualified candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, or previous work experience to meet the job expectations. Candidates must also be able to use hand tools, have mechanical aptitude, strong interpersonal skills, basic computer skills, ability to read and write, follow verbal and written instructions, use basic math and take accurate measurements. Candidates must also have the ability to lift 50 pounds, stand, walk, bend and kneel for up to 12 hours. Previous operator experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred. Employees will be required to wear personal protective equipment including safety glasses, ear plugs, gloves and steel toe shoes. All required PPE is provided by Loparex. A strong commitment to safety, customers, quality and productivity is essential.
