Software Engineering Manager, Supply Chain Technology

Supply Chain Technology (SCT) innovates to get physical and digital products to our customers quickly and efficiently. We build, support, and extend the systems that manage order fulfillment, transportation, warehouse operations, and inventory placement across our FCs and thousands of retail nodes. As you may have read in the news, our mission is to make GameStop the e-commerce leader in our space, and we are looking for software engineering leaders with bold ideas to lead the way.

Prior experience in supply chain space is welcomed but not required. We have a broad range of problems requiring software solutions: Algorithmic, back-end solutions for optimizing shipping from a 3000+ node network, applications with UX that allows non-native English speakers or users with disabilities to excel on the warehouse floor and integrating with conveyors and robotic solutions.

This is a remote or hybrid role with occasional travel to FCs and Dallas HQ.

Responsibilities

  • You are technical owner of the systems in your space through ideation, requirements, design build, release, and support
  • You are a technical design leader, balancing concerns like scalability, maintainability, observability to make the best design decisions
  • In partnership with your product manager, you are driving a technical and strategic vision for your space
  • Drive progress in your programs, finding creative ways to deliver value sooner
  • Develop the talent on your team; get them to where they want to go

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or equivalent industry experience
  • 6+ years' experience in software engineering in large distributed systems environment
  • 3+ years' experience directly managing software engineers
  • Hands-on coding experience with implementing services, including databases, caches, queues, and REST frameworks
  • Demonstrated experience measuring system health and outcomes with data
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience driving improvements to engineering process and tools like CI/CD, code review, monitoring, logging/metrics
  • Experience managing developer on-call support
  • Experience with AWS or other public cloud and its managed services
  • Experience in the supply chain space
