Specialist, Solar Operations Monitoring

The Solar Operation Specialist is responsible for day to day monitoring of photovoltaic energy plants across the Ecoplexus portfolio, as well as analysis of performance data to diagnose problems and optimize plant operation. Tasks include reviewing incoming alarms, and resolving monitoring network issues, ensuring that all components of the arrays and monitoring systems are functioning properly. The Specialists also logs all events occurring at the company's sites. In addition, the Solar Operations Specialist's role is to maximize the performance of the solar facilities across the Ecoplexus portfolio, analyzing data from the solar facilities to identify under performance and propose corrections or improvements to system operation. The Specialists also is a primary contact for operational issues with host utilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Using the Company's SCADA system, monitor the real-time operation and performance of all utility and commercial scale generation assets.
• Respond to and evaluate system alarms, emergencies, and irregularities, taking corrective action as provided in established guidelines and in accordance with safety practices.
• Analyze data from the solar facilities to identify underperforming assets, and means to improve performance
• Monitor the quality and accuracy of communications systems and real-time telemetered generation data, and appropriately respond to errors in data flow and alarms.
• Configure SCADA software for most effective use.
• Document generation availability and the status of planned and unplanned outages to the appropriate internal and external personnel/entities.
• Coordination with the maintenance group to achieve resolution of electrical and/or monitoring issues.
• Maintain a log of events occurring at all sites.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

• Minimum of a 2 year degree in engineering, computer science or data analytics, 4 year degree preferred.
• Strong background with computer systems and the use of spreadsheets
• Outstanding problem solving skills with the ability to analyze situations and recommend solutions
• Ability to work in a team environment and support technicians remotely to achieve resolution
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to navigate and operate multiple remote operations systems and tools.
• Experience in remote monitoring of solar or other generating facilities, preferred

Job Requirements:

• Will be part of a rotating on-call schedule for weekends and hours outside of regular office hours.
• Work environment is in an office setting requiring prolonged viewing of display monitors and use of computer equipment.
