    DESCRIPTION
    The Senior Analyst, HEDIS Reporting position is a key leader in cutting-edge analytic work that spans all HEDIS and performance measure reporting activities within HSAG. Driven by intellectual curiosity and a passion for healthcare quality, the Senior Analyst, HEDIS Reporting position develops, implements, and leads innovative plans to evaluate HEDIS and other performance measures that are intended to provide healthcare decision and policy makers with the necessary information to transform healthcare.
    Senior Analyst, HEDIS Reporting will evaluate a wide array of performance measures, including NCQA HEDIS, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Core Set, custom state Medicaid, and novel client developed performance measures. These measures will incorporate a wide array of data, including (but not limited to) the following data types:
    • survey
    • case review
    • medical and prescription drug claims and encounters
    • eligibility
    • demographic
    • clinical
    • electronic health record
    • registry
    • vital statistics
    • operational
      It is anticipated that the Senior Analyst, HEDIS Reporting will work directly with the leadership within the Audits Department to oversee all performance measure related reporting for HSAG's state Medicaid clients. Additionally, the Senior Analyst, HEDIS Reporting will support the development and evaluation of state Medicaid pay for performance (P4P) and other incentive programs. Details regarding initial project assignments will be discussed with potential candidates during the interview process.
      ESSENTIAL COMPETENCIES, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES
      • Serve as an analytic leader within the Audits Department as part of the broader HSAG Data Science & Advanced Analytics division.
      • Lead HSAG performance measure reporting activities, including serving as the primary analyst on large, high profile projects.
      • Understand primary types of healthcare data and methods for approaching data assessments.
      • Define appropriate research questions and develop corresponding analytic plans.
        • Lead and interpret analyses, develop appropriate statistical models, manipulate complex databases, and track and evaluate patterns of care and outcomes.
        • Attend, participate, and lead team training meetings.
        • Present and communicate project results to nonanalytic staff members and customers.
        • Represent HSAG in a professional manner at all times.

          Job Requirements:

          EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
          • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., math, statistics, economics, and epidemiology). Master's degree preferred.
          • A minimum of six (6) years of work experience.
          • At least five (5) years of healthcare experience.
          • At least five (5) years of statistics and/or quantitative analysis experience.
          • At least two (2) years of HEDIS reporting or comparable experience.
          • At least one (1) year of experience supervising analytic staff.
            OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
            • Experience evaluating and interpreting HEDIS and other performance measures.
            • Experience working with relational databases.
            • Experience developing and leading formal written deliverables for multiple clients, including serving as the lead writer/major contributor on multiple formal deliverables.
            • Experience serving as the primary writer on a proposal and as a major contributor to the overall proposal effort.
            • Experience mentoring multiple junior-level staff.
            • Demonstrated ability to supervise a team of at least two people, including responsibility for monitoring and evaluating performance.
            • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
            • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
            • Ability to handle several projects simultaneously and work with multiple teams.
            • Proficient in the use of SAS software for statistical programming. SAS certification preferred.
