Job Description

This is a non-supervisory position, responsible for conducting purchasing activities to support sourcing, contract and supplier management activities in line with departmental strategy and objectives.

Activities include but not limited to:

• Sourcing and Contracting Activities that include but not limited to:
  • Sourcing event bid strategy & management
  • Bid analytics
  • Coordination and alignment of RFQ package components including Terms & Conditions, SOR, RFQ documentation
  • Leadership sourcing recommendation / alignment.
• Management of sourcing documentation related to bid events in adherence to the GM Audit Services
• Daily supplier interface activities on all commercial items
• Support commercial budget activities
• Support logistics supplier management initiatives including "Strategic Supplier Engagement"
  • Nurture relationship with strategic suppliers by acting as a focal point for commercial issue resolution
• Perform rate management activities including spot buys, rate analysis and supplier requests
• Participate in supplier KPI reviews

Additional Job Description

Knowledge:

• Strong multi-faceted experience in Logistics and Supply Chains including working knowledge of various logistics modes and supply base dynamics (Preferred)
• Strong Commercial Negotiation experience
• Robust experience in complex bid and contract management
• Working knowledge in data analysis and bid management software
• Working experience in data analytics environment.

Skills:

• Strong purchasing negotiation skills in logistics or other services
• Strong understanding of the network optimization concepts and process
• Strong Technical capabilities including Data Mining and Analysis including knowledge of SQL, Tableau and MS Access (preferred)
• Knowledge of Mapping Tools including MapInfo (preferred)
• Leadership - ability to manage complex projects
• High Analytic Capability in situations which are ambiguous and complex
• Strong Senior Leadership presentation skills
• High level of oral and written communications skills
• High level of interpersonal skills
• Ability to both work independently and as a member of cross-functional teams
• Ability to lead a project from start to finish
• Detail oriented and Data Driven
• High process focus
• Energetic and passionate to find solutions to complex supply chain problems

Experience/Education:

• Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance, Industrial Engineering, or related fields (required)
• Master's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance, Industrial Engineering, or related fields (preferred)
• 3+ years of work experience in the related fields (preferred)
• Finance/Engineering/Logistics Certifications (preferred)
