Job Description Summary:
Role Purpose

To lead the delivery and execution engine of Marketing Operations for the PayPal Marketing Team while driving a technology and automation led transformation of the function to empower our marketers with the tools, tech and data to do world class modern marketing and to increase the velocity, efficiency and impact of our marketing execution.

We need the right leader of Marketing Operations and Transformation to help us navigate the dynamic ecosystem and put in place the right solutions to unlock the next stage of growth

The leader of Marketing Operations will drive the roadmap, mar-tech strategy and execution motions that will help us navigate our dynamic sector and enable us to lead and unlock the next stage of business growth. This will be through defining the right mar-tech and GTM strategy, driving the roadmap and engagement model with our Product, Technology and Data partners while bringing together the right vendor/partner strategy and defined processes for execution

Reporting to the CMO this is a leadership role within Marketing with an enormous scope for personal impact and personal growth.

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and optimize the Marketing delivery engine for PayPal; lead agile practitioners, delivery experts, change champions and vendor partners to execute PayPal Marketing through owned and paid channels. Continually improve speed to market, execution velocity while reducing cost to serve.

  • Lead the Transformation Strategy and execution of the Transformation Roadmap for Marketing Operations inclusive of technology, vendor and partner mix, change management, process re-engineering and business casing

  • Lead and Deliver the Mar-tech Agenda for Marketing through outstanding partnership with our internal Technology Partners and Tech Partners including Salesforce and Braze. Define requirements, build strong partnership models, drive oversight of delivery, and drive thought leadership and outstanding change management through execution.

  • Lead initiatives that enable PayPal to stay ahead of the changing regulatory landscape and compliance obligations. Build strong partnerships with Legal, Compliance, Privacy and drive a highly proactive agenda to educate marketers on requirements while putting in place the platforms, processes, and controls to ensure governance, compliance and operational excellence

  • Outstanding Leadership and Management of the Marketing Operations Team. Embody and embrace the 12 PayPal Leadership Principles, role model servant based, empathy led leadership and elevate your team of 50+ delivery experts to deliver results and help them achieve their professional goals.

  • Thought Leadership as an expert in delivery of tech-enabled personalized marketing communications in a changing regulatory, privacy and publishing landscape.

Location: New York City (Primary) but open to other locations in the US including San Jose and Remote.

Travel: Main destinations will include New York, San Jose (Global HQ) & Singapore.

Requirements:
  • Experience in leading large scale marketing operations functions, including process optimization, analytical reporting, marketing technology platform implementations and automation.
  • 15+ years of marketing operations / marketing technology / digital marketing experience
  • Track record in defining and delivering OKRs, measuring KPIs, and bringing clarity of execution to stakeholders.
  • Financial and business acumen. Ability to make data-driven decision to drive measurement impact, and to construct business cases to support the transformation roadmap.
  • Track record in defining requirements, designing solutions, and partnering to implement mar-tech for both B2B and B2C. Demonstrated understanding in building winning partnerships with Product and Technology functions.
  • Experience with structured marketing planning, managing marketing budgets and managing vendor relationships.
  • Experience leading in an agile environment with a proven track-record of driving change in ways of working by leveraging the agile mindset
  • Proven track record of optimization of customer experience to drive better business outcomes with prospects and existing customers.
  • Demonstrated leadership and ability to practice strong ownership, drive change in a large, matrixed organization.
  • Fearless leader able to constructively advance opinionated perspective, well-informed by industry and customer analysis, to all levels of organization.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.

Education & Experience required:
  • Bachelor Degree/MBA
  • Strong experience with vendors in the Marketing Technology space (Salesforce Platform preferred)
  • Strong experience in working with Product Managers and Technologists
  • Deep experience at the intersection of Marketing/Tech/Data
  • Understanding of regulatory landscape in Fin-tech space will be highly valued

The U.S. national annual pay range for this role is
$143400 to $285450
