Summary of Role:

GlobalFoundries Fab 9 is seeking experienced professionals to support the feature rich 200mm semiconductor manufacturing and development in Essex Junction, VT. The Quality Assurance team is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sr. Manufacturing Quality Engineer to oversee key quality management system business processes for the Fab 9 location such as: Non-conforming materials disposition, internal excursion management, corrective action/preventive action, FMEA, Out-going quality inspection, and change management. The successful candidate for this position will have demonstrated success in working cross organizationally to enable robust quality systems and processes to deliver best in class satisfaction. In this role, your duties may include supporting and learning all aspects of manufacturing quality management listed above but with primary focus on Non-conforming materials and event management processes to start.

This individual will be part of the Fab 9 quality assurance team endeavoring to improve Fab 9 business processes aligned with global and industry standards in support of operational excellence, improved performance and delivering business policy changes that help manage risk to the Fab 9 team and consistent with our future customer portfolio. Please note, this is a fully on-site position at the Essex Junction, VT facility.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Ownership and accountability for the efficiency and effectiveness of designated business process
  • Own and drive manufacturing quality metrics to targets and drive continuous improvement for the non-conforming material business process (Excursions, Near Misses, On-time submission, AI closure, Escapes, etc)
  • Serve as MRB business owner to chair the daily MRB meeting to ensure accurate containment, dipso, and appropriate risk to prevent any MRB escapes. Accurately document minutes and update the MRB system with aligned shippable actions
  • Primary focus is driving timely review of events that are pending disposition as well as documenting events via Meeting Minutes, iCASe records and Case Management systems.
  • Provide engineering support to the MRB process ensuring classifications, pending actions and reviews are up to date to avoid delay of shipment. Ensure proper case classification, containment, documentation, and disposition are being done per SOP. Raising large case containments, post fab containments, and releasing material once cases are approved per MRB business owners.
  • Collaborate with MRB business owners to support the MRB process ensuring MRB agenda submission, scrap tracker management, and have proper evidence for MRB closure.
  • Provide support with Near Miss Themes analysis and provide MRB actual exposure counts for wafer Jeopardy analysis.
  • Coordinate technical resolution of documented non-conformances through interaction with modules, PI, YE and Reliability
  • Update and track MRB Fab quality indices for management review.

Other Responsibilities:
  • Supporting and fostering the quality mindset within the Fab 9 community.
  • Work with global quality teams to ensure we strive for ONEGF policy, practices and principles.
  • Be a catalyst to enable risk-based thinking & quality mindset culture Fab9 Supporting various departments by collecting and coordinating internal quality process across various departments, conducting ad hoc investigations into identified or reported risks, managing and reporting compliance breaches and exposures.
  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs

Required Qualifications
  • B.S. Degree in Engineering or other related field or equivalent experience
  • Experience - 3+ years relevant experience in the semiconductor industry
  • Fluency in English language - both written and verbal
  • Excellent written, presentation, communication skills and ability to interact with all levels

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Leadership skills to drive a high-performance team with hands on experience on excellent problem solving/troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge and applied experience in overall Quality Management systems such as Control Plan, FMEA, SPC, Corrective Action Requests, 8D problem solving methodologies other quality tools etc.,
  • Able to withstand and perform under pressure and tight deadlines

Expected Salary Range
$63,500.00 - $142,000.00
