The Department of Medicine has an exciting opportunity for a Full-Time Senior Financial Analyst to work on the UHealth Campus. The Senior Financial Analyst will conduct activities essential to ensuring the fiscal health of the department, and support multi-functional initiatives across the finance team. The incumbent will report to the Director of Finance and work collaboratively with leaders in the Department of Medicine (DOM) Chair's office and other institutional partners.

  • Assist with tracking and reconciliation of the Annual Operating Agreement (AOA) with Jackson Memorial Hospital
  • Oversight and collaboration of any additional incoming financial portfolios such as Gift agreements or other external contracts, agreements, and endowments
  • Serve as co-leader in conjunction with Finance Director throughout yearly budget process; project expenditures/revenue analysis, identify/explain variances, and assist with operational budget entry via Tidemark.
  • Collaborate with Research administration team on incoming, extensions, and ending grants as it pertains to the financial impact of the provider, program, and/or division.
  • Collaborate with DOM accounting team to ensure appropriate invoicing of the University of Miami Hospital and Clinics Tower (UMHC-T) for agreed upon support (medical directorships, purchased services, MOUs, etc.)
  • Collaborate with finance key stakeholders in the Miami Transplant Institute, VA, and DOM.
  • Assist with the development of P&L reports for faculty/clinical staff and divisional programs for review and analysis of profitability with senior leadership. Identifies opportunities for cost savings for the department.
  • Coordinate and execute costing allocations and payroll accounting adjustments. Review and identify labor distribution efforts and correct discrepancies. Maintain IDC reporting logs and execute journal entries when necessary.
  • Prepare and present financial data to the Chairman of Medicine during monthly updates
  • Analyze and review monthly financial variances, accounting processes, and procedures; recommends

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
  • Skill in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data.
  • Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.
