Our client, a professional association in Alexandria, VA, is in need of a Senior Media Affairs Specialist to join their growing Corporate Communications team!

About You:

• Bachelor's degree is required.
• 5+ years of Media or Public Relations experience required; prior agency or media campaign experience is preferred.
• Very strong writing and oral communications skills.
• Ability to work in a deadline driven environment.
• Strong detail orientation, time management, and organizational skills are required.
• Significant experience with media relations, or similar experience

The Job:

• Create and promote association content for placement in industry trade publications
• Develop relationships and communicate with media through social media platforms
• Conduct outreach to media, and respond to incoming inquiries from trade and national media outlets
• Promote association news, events and conferences, and secures media presence at the hosted events
• Handles media-monitoring and prepares coverage reports
• Complete other duties as assigned
