Job Summary
Responsible for designing automated tests to validate the functionality of applications. This position is responsible for creating the initial test designs, creating comprehensive test strategies, writing the scripts, installing the automation testing protocols, and reporting the results. This includes contributing to and developing automation testing frameworks and tools. The Sr QA automation engineer improves the team's quality assurance tools and processes. This entails defining the scope of testing within the context of each release, managing the appropriate testing process, and implementing testing metrics to be applied to each product.

Pay Range: $71,600.00 - $87,947.00 - $132,600.00

Job Responsibilities:

  • Designs, writes, installs, and executes automation scripts. Manages tools required to build a strong testing framework for Flagstar Bank.
  • Contributes to and develops automation testing frameworks and tools.
  • Coordinates with the IT teams to review the testing strategy and estimate the automation effort.
  • Troubleshoots automation software issues.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Completes all required compliance training. Maintains knowledge of and adhere to Flagstar's internal compliance policies and procedures. Takes responsibility to keep up to date with changing regulations and policies.

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree plus 7 years of QA experience including 4 years of automated testing experience required.
  • SQL experience highly desired.
  • 7 years of experience in quality analysis or another analytic role.
  • 4 years of experience in automated testing required.
  • 3 years of experience with software development methodologies (i.e. Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, etc.) and software process improvement methods.
  • Excellent knowledge in software quality assurance and automated system testing tools.
  • Ability to translate technical requirements to test plans.
  • Proven strength in building, writing, and executing automated test cases.
  • Strong experience with web services, executing calls and interpreting responses (SOAP and REST).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to apply root cause analysis.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and non-verbally and in technical writing to all levels of the organization in a proactive, contextually appropriate manner.
  • Proven ability in interpreting customer business requirements and translating them into testing and operational requirements.
  • Ability to focus on deadlines and deliverables with a proven ability to prioritize work by dividing attention and effort between current project workload and ongoing support tasks.
  • Proficient in IT standards, policies and procedures.
  • Backend database testing in SQL environment including validating stored process, jobs and triggers.
  • Ability to think through workflows and the characteristics that make each workflow different.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong technical process understanding.
