Our Client is seeking a Sr. Scientist- Tumor Immunology in Rockville, MD.

Role Description

• Discovers, proposes and validates novel IO based therapeutic strategies (both bispecific and Fc-engineered antibodies) targeting immune suppressor cells including MDSC, TAMs and Tregs.
• Establishes therapeutic relevant in vitro immune cell-based assays to screen and characterize candidate therapeutic molecules, characterizes mechanism of action and explores potential combinatorial activity both within and between antibody-based molecules and/or other therapeutic modalities.
• Develops and designs ex-vivo tumor studies and in vivo pharmacology efficacy models to characterize IO based therapeutics.
• Data will be used to support lead molecule selection, IND and regulatory filings, and guide therapeutic opportunity in clinical setting.
• Leads and/or participates in multi-functional teams responsible for the development of antibody-based molecules ranging in early development stage to early research through clinical development.
• Provides day-to-day management of direct reports, guiding experimental planning and trouble-shooting, data interpretation and assembly.
• Drafts manuscripts and nonclinical sections for regulatory submission.
• Champions external visibility for our science and technology through participation in scientific meetings and symposia.

Skills & Requirements

• Minimum of eight years of related research experience post PhD
• At least 3 years industry experience in a biotech/pharmaceutical company working in immunology and/or translational biology
• Hands-on experience employing multiparameter flow cytometry, ELISpot analyses and immune effector-based assays to characterize mAb based therapeutics including bi-specifics
• Experience with cross-functional teams and proven ability to build productive cross-functional collaborations both internally and externally
• Experience in managing and directing technical staff
• Ph.D. or equivalent advanced degree - Immunology, Cell Biology or Biological Science
