Senior Shipping Associate

Scottsdale, AZ

Contract Position

This position is supporting the next generation in developing mission critical systems for our national defense. You would be a part of creating the most effective and state of the art technologies for Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance supporting the Army, Navy, Air Force, Special Forces, and other Federal Government agencies working with our military.

Responsibilities:

• Perform a combination of manual and clerical shipping duties such as determining proper carrier and route and preparing paperwork for shipments.
• Process outgoing shipments, follow shipping practices and procedures, and route, track, and process shipments using the computer system.
• Process outgoing shipments
• Package product for shipment; by determining proper packaging and cushioning
• Use computer system for routing, tracking, and processing of shipments
• Follow shipping practices and procedures
• Verify quantity, weight, and conformance of materials to stated identifications
• Communicate clearly with coworkers, planners, material managers, and internal customers
• Help set and work toward team goals
• Prioritize individual daily activities
• Support continuous improvement activities
• Participate in meetings
• Lift heavy items up to 25 pounds

Qualifications:

• A High School Diploma or equivalent plus a minimum of 2 years of related experience. Certification in assigned area preferred, if appropriate
• Secret Clearance is preferred at time of hire.
• Clear knowledge of shipping activities/processes, including classified materials
• Ability to support continuous improvement activities
• Outstanding communication, customer service and organizational skills
• Ability to coordinate the efficient movement of materials with purchasing, production and engineering
